I was commissioned
to do this mermaid picture after the client
saw the my recent Pisces mermaid picture.
One of the specific requirements for this
picture was that the mermaid should have a
fish tail that cut around her pubic area in
a "V" shape. How does one make
love to a mermaid? Maybe this is how! My
interpretation on this when I drew Pisces
was that the opening was in the back, not
the front. It was interesting to try a
different take on the subject.
It's really unfortunate that a lot of the
small details I put into Aquarella (sparkles
in her eyes, texture on her nipples, etc)
became invisible when I shrunk her down.
That's one nice thing about prints -- all
the details that disappear when the picture
is turned into a jpg are still visible on a
high resolution print.
