I’ve worked on pre-designed characters before (that being the nature of fanart), but
never as part of a commercial project. Debbi-chan (the character in the foreground) was
originally designed by Min Kyoung Kwon (her page “Cozy Paper” can be found on our artist
links list), who did an excellent job with this
character design. I was commissioned to create some
supplemental artwork for my client as part of Debbi-chan project. The idea was to keep the
character design as close to the original as possible. While Min Kyoung and I differ a bit
artistically I think that my Debbi can be passed off as strikingly similar. ^_^
